The X32 and M32 work in ShowRecorder on the App Store, from version 1.1.18.
Tested only against an emulator so far. ShowRecorder's X32 and M32 support has run against an X32 emulator, not yet against a real mixer. Try it first at a rehearsal, or alongside your usual recorder, before you count on it for a show, and tell us how it goes.
Record without a laptop
Most X32 and M32 shows are recorded to a laptop running a DAW, or to SD cards. ShowRecorder replaces the laptop with the iPhone or iPad you already carry, and gives you named WAV files when the show ends, ready to open in Reaper or your DAW. How it stacks up against a laptop, X-Live and the other apps is on the comparison page, and the steps are in the guide to recording a gig without a laptop.
What you get
- All 32 USB Channels from the mixer's USB card, recorded in step with each other, at the mixer's sample rate.
- Files named from the mixer. Over the Mixer Link, ShowRecorder reads each channel's name and color, and picks up a rename on the mixer within a second or two: on screen straight away, and with Pro in the files from the next recording.
- Named after what's really patched. If you re-patch the card's outputs (a bus or another channel on USB 1), with Pro each file is named after what is actually routed to that USB Channel, not after its number.
- A second copy as you record with Pro, on a USB drive through a hub, so one failure doesn't lose the show.
- Markers you drop during the set, and the seconds before you press record, and with Pro a report of the show and a Reaper project, as on every mixer.
What you need
- A Behringer X32 (full size, Compact, Producer or Rack) with the X-USB card, or a Midas M32, M32R or M32C with the DN32-USB card. The M32 LIVE and M32R LIVE come with the DN32-LIVE card instead. The X-LIVE and DN32-LIVE cards haven't been tested; if you have one, tell us how it goes.
- A USB-C iPhone (iPhone 15 or later) on iOS 26, or a USB-C iPad on iPadOS 26, and a USB-B to USB-C cable to the mixer's USB card. For a long show, a powered USB-C hub between them keeps it charged. A Mac version is in testing (macOS 26).
- For names and colors: a Wi-Fi router plugged into the mixer's Ethernet port (the X32 and M32 have no Wi-Fi of their own), with your iPhone or iPad on its network. Recording itself needs only the USB cable.
Set it up
- Connect the mixer's USB card to your iPhone or iPad. ShowRecorder picks it up, and Settings should show 32 USB Channels. If it doesn't, tell us.
- Join the network of the router on the mixer's Ethernet port.
- Open Settings, then Mixer Link, and tap Find Mixers. Tap your mixer. The meters take the mixer's channel names and colors.
- Press record.
The cable, a powered hub and what to check are in the docs; Mixer Link covers Find Mixers.
Choose what USB records
On an X32, the USB card receives the sources assigned in Routing > card out in groups of eight. The Behringer X32 Quick Start Guide, Getting Started shows the card out tab and the output assignment screen. Check your card's routing before assuming that USB 1 is channel 1.
To record a processed channel direct out on an X32:
- On the desk, open Routing and select the analog out tab. In Edit Output Assignment, choose Direct Out as the category, then choose the channel and its Signal Tap for an output slot. The guide shows the exact tap labels Pre EQ, Post EQ, Pre Fader and Post Fader. (X32 Quick Start Guide, Getting Started)
- Open Routing > card out and assign the group of eight containing that output slot to the matching card-output group. The guide shows that output assignments can be mirrored to the USB card in blocks of eight. (X32 Quick Start Guide, Getting Started)
- Record a short test and listen to the file for the corresponding USB Channel. Check every group you changed before recording a show.
The guide does not establish a universal factory default for card routing. A different card, firmware version or saved scene may change what you see. What the mixer sends over USB explains what each tap is for.
32 channels at 48 kHz take about 16.6 GB per hour, on the iPhone or iPad and again on the drive if you use one. The record screen shows the time left.
Free, Trial and Pro
ShowRecorder is free to download, and Free records all 32 USB Channels to your iPhone or iPad, with generic names on the files and up to 3 Markers per recording. With the Mixer Link, the meters show the mixer's names as you record. Pro adds the names and colors from the mixer on the files, a second copy on a USB drive, unlimited Markers, a report, a Reaper project, 96 kHz and Templates. Pro is a one-time $4.99 purchase at its launch price, with no subscription. Start the 14-day Trial in Settings › Pro to try the Pro features. Auto-gain on the X32 and M32 is in the public beta only, until it has been tested on a real mixer.
Where to get it
ShowRecorder for iPhone and iPad is on the App Store, and records the X32 and M32 from version 1.1.18: all 32 USB Channels, with names and colors from the mixer over the Mixer Link.

Tell us how it goes
The X32 and M32 are new to ShowRecorder, and you may be the first to record a real one with it. If you try one, write to us at the address on the Support page with what worked and what didn't. If Settings has no Mixer Link section with the mixer plugged in, tell us the name under Settings › Audio interface: no X32 or M32 USB card's name has been checked yet. See Supported mixers for every mixer and what comes next.
